Simple Present Tense

Fungtion         :

»         To show an activity at this time (now).

»         To show a daily activity.

»         To express a general truth.

A.      Pattern Verbal

(+)	She/He/It + Verb1 + s/es + Complement.
	I/You/They/We + Verb1 + Complement.
(–)	She/He/It + Does + Not + Verb1 + Complement.

Present Continuous Tense

Fungtion         : To show something is happening now.

Pattern

(+)	I + Am + Verbing + Complement.
	She/He/It + Is + Verbing + Complement.
	You/They/We + Are + Verbing + Complement.
(–)	I + Am + Not + Verbing + Complement.
	She/He/It + Is + Not + Verbing + Complement.
	You/They/We + Are + Not Verbing + Complement.

Past Perfect Tense

 Fungtion              : To express an activity at the past that was done where there was something happened.

Pattern

(+)          Subject + Had + Verb₃ + Complement.

(–)          Subject + Had + Not + Verb₃ + Complement.

(?)          Had + Subject + Verb₃ + Complement?

(_WH)      WH + Had + Subject + Verb₃ + Complement?

*When/Before – Simple Past, – Past Perfect.

*Past Perfect – When/Before – Simple Past.

Past Continuous Tense

Fungtion              :

»         To show one action was in progress (usually took longer time) when another action or thing occurred in the past.

»         To show an action that happened at a certain time in the past.

»         To show that two actions were in progress simultaneously.

Pattern

(+)	I/He/She/It + Was + Verbing + Complement.
	You/They/We + Were + Verbing + Complement.
(–)	I/He/She/It + Was + Not + Verbing + Complement.

Simple Past Tense

Fungtion : To expreess an activity that is done in a single.

A.      Pattern Verbal

(+)   Subject + Verb₂ + Complement.

(-)    Subject + Did Not + Verb₁ + Complement.

(?)    Did + Subject + Verb₁ + Complement.

# Example :

         (+) We went to Bandung yesterday.

         (-)  We did not go to Bandung yesterday.
